How often have you been told, or believed that you “can’t do  ____ because of ___,” when it comes to exercise? For example, “I can’t run because of my knees,” or “I can’t deadlift because it hurts my back.”

We are often quick to take pain or discomfort with exercise and eliminate it completely.

We have created absolutes. While sometimes indicated, oftentimes, there’s an opportunity to adjust mechanics before eliminating the movement altogether.

The thing about athleticism is we have OPTIONS, not limitations.

Yet, we often see an emphasis on the limitations in the medical, practitioner, and fitness communities.

There are many variables we can adjust that provide options to still do the activity, to our own unique capacity. In this episode, I provide examples and shifts to our approach as athletes and coaches to help explore our options when it comes to exercise and unique needs.
